Rain …

Drops of water, of variable size, travelling through the atmosphere to collide with something, assuming the drops don’t get blown back up or frozen into hail.

Rain one of the many forms of the water of life, we are allegedly some 70% water (H2O). How many times have some molecules of water been up and down from ground to atmosphere and back?

How many molecules have never moved but oscillate on the spot in an icefield or snowfield?

We might want to look more closely at the timeline for H2O and its many forms and phases.
